International Women's Day: Celebrating women in tech

Watch on-demand here:

CITF will be celebrating International Women's Day by interviewing Sarah Flannigan, one of the most succesful women in technology. Sarah Flannigan was appointed CIO at EDF Energy in November 2016 after more than six years as CIO at the National Trust, leading a £40m transformation project as part of the NT's Systems Simplification Programme, which included upgrades to membership systems. At EDF Energy, Flannigan was involved with the company's Pretty Curious campaign to encourage young girls to pursue careers in STEM subjects. She is now pursuing a portfolio career.

Sarah will be talking candidly about her experiences - good and bad - of being a woman in tech. She will offer some reflections on how we can all play our part in championing the women tech leaders of the future.

Session takeaways

  • How women can drive their way into leadership positions
  • The importance of encouraging more women into STEM roles to improve gender equality in technology
  • A summary of where we are in 2019 for equality in the workplace
