Multiple changes are impacting the IT team like never before – think Cloud, Mobile, Digital, a multi-generational and diverse workforce.  Explore how to evaluate the future skills requirements and strategies to be a leader of the multi-dimensional future IT team

Most organisations will still need an IT organisation in the future but it will be different and will perform different tasks than today. Where does this leave you and your team members?

This key challenge is being addressed by two Forum activities in Q1 2017. This second event follows an earlier workshop which gathered requirements, where organisations were represented by their team leaders and middle management as well as junior IT professionals, exploring multigenerational views of the future of the IT team.

Summary

This second event will be directed specifically at CIOs/IT Leadership Team.  Anonymous feedback will be provided from the first event, along with approaches that could be taken to start to address the requirements and potential skills gaps.

Predictions of workforce developments, based on an analysis of the past, seem unlikely to be appropriate within a rapidly changing environment. A shortage of talent is already evident and research is telling us that the dynamics of the workforce will be significantly different in the near future

Objectives

To help decision-makers to understand and manage the complexity of the future IT team better, to identify courses of action, and to build the longer term into today’s decisions.

Who

CIOs/IT Leadership Team – IT leaders with a responsibility for building and maintaining the IT team, now and in the future.

Agenda

Discussion topics will include:

  • What management skills will the organisations need for facilitating collaboration across multiple generations and their values
  • What actions need to be taken to ensure and protect your pool of skills and talent, to service a more global supply chain
  • How to manage internal staff, alongside external support, to create the right skillsets for the future
